Ostomy's a Greek word for opening. It's a surgically-created opening in abdomen and the intestine. The surgeon brings the intestine through the abdominal opening and sews it down to skin. These diversions can also be created for urine.

Ostomy Project
We began this project at our hospital to raise aWEARness among health care professionals of ostomates. Our objectives included empathizing with changes to day-to-day life, encouraging appropriate pouching technique, and encouraging ostomates to live normal, adventurous lives.
